What Every Thoughtful Writer MUST Do FIRST
Build a home for your writing so that your creativity can soar
One October morning, I packed two suitcases and left the home I shared with my husband of sixteen years. My child was in school that morning, not knowing that when she returned, we would be homeless. Well, not exactly homeless. A colleague turned good friend had graciously offered us a place in her home.
“Stay for as long as you need,” she said. I was grateful. But I was also impatient..
The very next day I began looking for a place for stay. My new home. Yes, it was a place that I rented, yet, it felt like a big move. A commitment to the rest of my life, a life that I was creating with each choice I made after this one.
I have written about this in my book, Rewriting My Happily Ever After. Five years after that eventful day when I felt ‘homeless’, I moved into my own apartment. A space that bore my name. That was the day I felt I had arrived.
